How I lost 10 pounds in two week

Is it possible to lose 10 pounds in just a matter of two weeks? The simple answer to this question is “YES.” It may sound impossible but I’m here to tell you it isn’t and here’s more, it’s not really as hard as you think. How do I know this? Well, I am living proof of this possibility.

So in this article, I would like to share with you how I lost 10 pounds in two weeks.

How I lost 10 pounds in two week

I wasn’t always overweight. As a matter of fact, it was actually the opposite and I was okay with that. I do not know exactly what happened but I just woke up one morning and found myself staring at somebody in the mirror that I couldn’t recognize. Then suddenly it hit me.

At that moment, all I could think about was shedding off those unwanted pounds as quickly and safely as possible but I had no idea exactly how.

My Weight Loss Struggle

As I said, I wasn’t always fat, I wasn’t born fat and nobody in my family was fat. Growing up, I was always known to be the underweight student in my class from primary up until my junior years in college. I was confident I wouldn’t gain weight no matter how much I ate and so I never put a restriction on the amount of food I put into my mouth.

However, I occasionally went on a fruit and juice cleansing diet especially a week before exams because I have learned from my health-conscious uncle that this effectively increases memory retention. During the final semester, I noticed that I was slowly gaining weight but this did not bother me at all until the day of my pictorials for our yearbook.

I was shocked to see how fat I looked in those photos and honestly, I hesitated to submit them. I immediately thought of shedding off some pounds and taking new photos for my yearbook. But I knew I’ll surely miss the deadline for submission so I had no choice but to go with those fat, ugly photos.

After graduation, I was determined to get back in shape so I went on a fruit cleansing diet for a week. I stayed away from carbs and just ate fruits and had lots of natural juices and water. I also tried to be more active by walking for at least 30 minutes a day. My effort paid off and I was back to the old me.

Not long after that, I landed my first job and because I was so ecstatic to finally be on my own for the first time, I thought I should enjoy life by eating everything that I found satisfying. I told myself that I deserve to enjoy every penny I was making so I started to overeat.

It didn’t take long for me to start putting on excess weight again but I couldn’t care less because I knew I could easily drop them in just a matter of days.

My unhealthy eating habits went on for another 4 weeks until I woke up one morning unable to recognize the person staring back at me in the mirror. I looked bloated, ugly, and unhealthy and that image of me was a nightmare. I didn’t only become fat, I also lost the energy to accomplish my daily tasks and that’s what worried me.

I tried to cut down on my calorie intake but still weighed the same after 2 weeks. While searching for an alternative, I was introduced to Herbal Life products by one of my college friends. I thought there’s no harm in trying so why not?

Finding a dealer was quite easy because Herbal Life was getting popular in the market even though it was a bit costly.

Every two weeks my dealer would pay me a visit not only to deliver my supplies but also to see my progress. She would tell me I was looking better every time she came and encouraged me to stick to the program until I reached my goal.

I would just smile and say, “Thank you,” but deep inside I knew it wasn’t working because I still looked the same even though the scale said I lost 1-2 pounds after a month of being in the program.

After spending quite a large sum of money on the products, I wasn’t satisfied because I didn’t get the result that I was expecting. I know this product worked successfully for some people and maybe even for you. Sadly, it didn’t work for me so I decided to try something else and this time failure isn’t an option.

The Juice Diet Formula that Worked for Me

My boss and his family loved to travel and they would always bring me along. During the two and a half years that I worked for them, we’ve been to Thailand four times and visited Singapore once. It has been a pleasure and a great experience being able to travel with them and explore different countries and cultures.

When our two-week trip to Bangkok was finalized, I decided it was the perfect opportunity for me to start with the diet formula I’d been planning for quite some time. I knew it was going to be difficult for the first 2-3 days but I was determined to make it work.

So here’s the juice recipe I used that helped me lose 10 pounds in two weeks.

Note: You do not have to use every ingredient on the list; you may want to mix and match and feel free to experiment while on your 2-week juice diet.

Breakfasts                             Lunches                                Dinners

2 apples                                  1 small beetroot                      2 apples

1 orange                                  2 carrots                                   4 kale leaves

4 kale leaves                          1 red apple                                2 cups spinach

1 cucumber                            1 green apple                            2 celery stalks

1 lemon                                  1 yellow apple                           1 carrot

1 cup blueberries                 ½ lemon peeled                       ¼ lemon peeled

Things to Consider while on the 14-Day Juice Diet

1) In case any ingredient on the recipe is not available, feel free to make substitutions that are similar. For instance, if you do not like kale or if it is not available, you can always replace it with broccoli or spinach.

2) It is normal for the first 2-4 days to get headaches and strong cravings. Remember to stay focused on your juice diet. Always feel free to make extra juice whenever you feel hungry and about to eat something solid. There is no limit to the amount of juice you can drink each day.

3) You may want to start each day with warm lemon juice to cleanse your digestive system and give you a good boost of energy. Juice ½ lemon (peeled) and mix it with 16 ounces of warm water.

4) While on the 2-week juice diet, make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day.

5) Upon juicing, it is recommended that you drink the juice as soon as you can or you can pour it into a glass and keep it refrigerated.

Conclusion

As we were preparing to leave Bangkok, I made a firm decision to never go back to my bad eating habits. Although I knew it would be really hard to resist the urge to indulge myself once in a while, I also knew that I need to stand my ground if I want to stay fit and healthy.

Will this work for you? It worked for me so I do not see any reason for it not to work for you and for everyone who is not only looking to get cleansed and detoxed but also to lose weight and stay healthy.

If you have had any experience with a juice fast or juice cleansing diet, please feel free to tell me all about it by leaving your comments below.

  1. Very well written article, with lots of useful information.

I never had an issue with regards to my weight, however, I have friends and some family members who are struggling to lose weight. I believe they have tried almost everything and anything they can possibly think of in order to stay fit but no matter how successful they are at losing those extra pounds, they always end up gaining them back, and more.

The 14-day juice fast could be the answer they’ve been looking for so I’m glad to have read your article. I will be recommending this diet formula to them and I hope it will work for them the same way that it worked for you.

Thank you for sharing your story.

    1. Thanks for reading my article and I hope this diet formula will work for your friends and family members who are having problems with their weight. I love this because it does not only guarantee to help lose weight but more importantly it will also cleanse and detox your body.

  2. Hi Alice,

Great post. I often juice fast. I usually do 3 to 7 days at the start of each season with nice fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables. I do it more for the healing qualities of a fast than losing weight. I healed myself from cancer around 5 years ago through natural means and fasting was a huge part of that.

The lunchtime juice you have there is known as Cabala juice C = for the carrots A = for the 3 apples B = beetroot and L = lemon. I actually have the lemon whole as long as its organic or has been washed in Apple Cider Vinegar. The peel contains the most nutrients.

I am starting a 14 day fast tomorrow actually. With juice water and a thing called Pulse. Look up Don Tolman to see what pulse is but its basically an ancient meal of chopped up fruit and nuts. Only 200 grams a day. Really good stuff. Thanks for a great post and well done on losing 10 pounds, but more importantly looking after your health!

    1. Hey Kevin,

Glad to know you enjoy going on a juice fast. Most people find it really difficult to give up their favorite foods even for just a week or two. Isn’t it amazing that you were able to beat cancer naturally with a juice fast! This is because juice diet, juice fast, juice cleanse or whatever we wanna call it, is a great way of cleansing our body from toxins and other chemicals that got in there mainly through the foods that we put into our mouth and the pollutants we contract everyday.

Now that you mentioned it, yeah, CABALA juice is how other people call that lunch time recipe. And I prefer organic fruits too because they are healthier and safer for consumption.

Enjoy your 14-day fast and I hope you will get the results you are expecting. Staying healthy is something that we all should strive for because health is wealth.

Cheers to taking care of our health!

  3. It’s good to see that you were able to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks. That is really pretty impressive! I have heard that in the beginning, you lose weight quickly when you start dieting and working out more. Have you ever heard that it gets hard to maintain weight loss after that?

I’ve never heard of the fruit cleansing diet, though. But, correct me if I am wrong, but aren’t fruits loaded with carbs? I have found that just cutting out the carbs really does make me irritable, though. Have you ever experienced irritability from cutting out carbs?

    1. Losing weight is a challenge but keeping off the unwanted pounds and maintaining your weight can be a lot tougher. I’ve read stories of how fat people have lost weight pretty quick but were also pretty quick to gain them back plus a lot more, which is really sad. It’s like winning the lottery, living like a millionaire for a day or two and then back to being a beggar.

I believe it all comes down to mindset. If you are really determined to lose those extra pounds and keep them off even after your weight loss journey, you will come out victorious and successful. You also need to have a totally different lifestyle and not revert back to your old eating habits.

Fruits maybe high in sugar and carbs but they are natural and healthy so this is not really an issue. It could be a bit hard not being able to have your favorite cereals for breakfast and chicken sandwiches for lunch or dinner. But remember, this juice diet lasts only for 2 weeks and before that, your body would have already adjusted to this.

I love carbs and I know I can’t survive a day without them. However, I chose to sacrifice two weeks without my favorite meals in exchange for a healthier and happier me. After coming out of the 14-day juice diet, it is important to stay focused on maintaining your ideal weight by eating a healthy, balanced meal and staying active.

  4. I’m inspired by your dedication and perseverance! Loosing weight is not easy, and takes a lot of trial and error to find the sweet spot to maintaining a healthy weight. I love juicing, and have a tendency to do it more in the summer. In order for me to sustain this more healthy diet, however, I have to throw in some protein or I get too hungry lol.

    1. Hi Sarah,

You have no idea how much I struggled during the first 3 days or so of the juice diet. I was tempted to give up especially every time I saw my bosses enjoy delicious meals. But I was determined to leave Bangkok a totally different person, I mean in SHAPE and SIZE.

You’re right, not every diet formula would work for everyone. We need to find the one that we find effective and stay on it. I believe it all comes down to how much we really want to lose weight to stay fit and healthy.

Today, I only juice once a week, sometimes twice. I am happy to say that I have maintained my weight and although I try to always eat a healthy, balanced meal, I also satisfy my cravings for sweets and chips once in a while.

  5. Hi, this is an interesting story. I am thinking of doing a detox diet once and again. The juice diet sounds quite tasty and I think I will be able to stay strong doing that.

I did not get that right maybe but in this juice diet is no Herbal life involved?
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Stefan,

I highly recommend this diet to anyone who does not only want to lose weight to stay fit and healthy but also to cleanse and detox their body. This juice diet definitely does the hard work of cleansing your entire digestive system and will help to boost your mental health.

And yes, the juice diet tastes really great, it’s natural sugar so it’s healthy and can give you the necessary nutrients needed to sustain your health. However, I do not recommend going beyond 2 weeks or 14 days because our body needs other essential nutrients too that are not found in the ingredients of the juice diet.

Before going on the two-week juice diet, I was on Herbal Life meal replacement. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the result that’s why I decided to try something else. I’m not saying that Herbal Life does not work. As a matter of fact it is quiet effective if you are underweight and want to add some pounds because it works really well as food supplement. But as a way of losing weight, I do not really recommend it.

  6. Really appreciate your article. I’ve struggled and spent alot of money to lose the cranky 10 pounds too many times in my life over my 56 years! I love your juice recommendations as juicing is the only thing I’ve done that has allowed my weight loss to be permanent. Any time I feel a few pounds creeping on, I can go back to a 3 day juice fast and be back on track.

    1. Hey Dana,

It really is a struggle to lose weight but we just have to find the right formula that works for us. Having lost 10 pounds in two weeks by going on a juice fast, I am confident that this is one of the healthiest and most effective way to do it.

But the question most frequently asked is how to make weight loss permanent because let’s face it, it’s pretty easy to gain back those pounds. Like you, whenever I feel like I’m getting heavy, I just go on a 2-3 day juice fast.

However, I believe that best way to maintain your ideal weight is by eating a healthy, balanced diet and being physically active.

      Thanks for stopping by Dana.

  7. Good job at losing the pounds. My question to you is that can you eat any meals while on the juice diet? I am wondering if you are pretty much relying on the juice drinks to sustain your appetite. And If so is there an eating plan you recommend. Thanks.

    1. Hello Ronnie, thanks for your comment.

So glad to have lost those unwanted pounds. I must admit, I struggled a bit during the first 2-4 days because it was hard not being able to eat anything solid. But rest assured, the cravings will gradually cease once you get past the first 7 days.

This diet highly recommends not taking any solid foods during its entire duration because it does not only aim to lose weight but more importantly, to cleanse and detox. So yeah, I only relied on the juice drinks!

Basically, what I did was start off each day with a glass of warm lemon water. After an hour or so I’ll have 1 glass of juice followed by a glass of water. I’d drink juice every time I feel hungry and start to crave for something else. One good thing about this diet is that there is no maximum, no limit. You can drink as much as you want.

It also helped that we were on vacation when I took on this challenge so I did not have to do my normal routine works. I highly recommend you do this juice diet formula when you’re on vacation or if your job does not require you to do a lot of movements.
